Easy Ravioli Bake

Hi guys.

I wanted to share a quick recipe I found on facebook. Its really quick and easy to make especially for those nights that you are super busy or just want a quick dinner that is filling!

You can use your favorite brands and just follow the recipe.

I used Organic ravioli from costco, Newman’s marinara sauce (one whole jar), and grated some mozzarella cheese. Just layer it like a lasagna!

That’s it! It’s super easy and super yummy! Hope you enjoy. Leave a comment on what your favorite pasta dish is! Thanks for stopping by!

At Home Fake Nails

Hi guys!

Today I wanted to share with everyone what I do when I want to have fake nails. I can’t always afford to go and get my nails done, so this is a great alternative. It a lot cheaper and you get multiple uses out of the set.

20160212_204002

This is all the stuff I use to prep and apply the fake nails. There aren’t many steps so it goes by kind of quickly. (Sorry the pic isn’t great.)

20160212_204235

So the first thing you want to do is take care of your cuticles. You want to make sure your cuticles are pushed back and your nail bed is nice and clean. So to achieve that, I use the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover. I love this stuff. It comes out in a gel form, which is extra nice so it doesn’t get all over the place.

You just make a line on your nail bed where your cuticle is. Follow the shape of your nail.

Next, take a cuticle pusher, I have a medal one but any kind should work just fine. GENTLY push your cuticles back. The bottle says to leave it on for 15 secs or no longer than 1 minute for calluses.

Once you’ve pushed the cuticle back, all you need to do next is wipe off the gel. You can use a napkin, paper towel, or cotton ball or you can just go wash your hands. That’s it for the cuticles!

20160212_204320

The next steps that I take are cleaning underneath my real nail. Even though I’m putting a fake nail on, I can’t stand the feeling of having dirt under my fingernail. Then I trim my nail and lightly file it to smooth out any harsh edges.

So I forgot to take pics of the next steps but all your going to do is pick out the nail size that you need. If they still seem a little to big for your nails then all you’re going to do is file a little bit at a time around the part of the nail that will sit up against where your cuticle is. Go slow and take your time so that you don’t file too much and mess the nail up.

Then, using the nail glue that the set comes with add one drop to the under side of the nail and gently spread it out on the nail leaving the tip alone. Then quickly apply the fake nail on top of your real nail. I try to press the bottom of the nail down near my cuticle first then try to smooth it out over the rest of the nail. There might be some air bubbles in the center of your nail and that is okay but you don’t want a bunch of air bubbles. Once the nail is on, press firmly making sure it’s on there pretty good. Obviously try to line it up as straight as you can before you apply it all the way.

That’s pretty much all there is to it. You can skip some steps if you already take care of your cuticles on a regular basis or if your nails are already short and clean. Oh! The brand of nails I get is just the Kiss brand in the more square shape. Then all that’s left to do is paint them and you can use whatever nail polish you normally use.

To take off the nail polish, you don’t want to use any kind of remover because it might “eat” the nail so just use a nail file. I like to use a more coarse file like the Tropical Shine 100/180 files and then the Sand Turtle Sand Sponge coarse/med 100/125 to kind of smooth and buff out any roughness. You can get those from Sally Beauty Supply. They are really cheap but work really well. Then before you paint your nails again just wash your hands and make sure there isn’t any left over dust or nail polish on your nails.

As always, Thanks for stopping by and make sure you hit that follow button!!

February Ipsy Bag

Hi guys.

As you may know, I have had an Ipsy bag subscription for a couple of years now and I have pretty much enjoyed every bag I have gotten, minus maybe a handful or less. I mean it’s pretty exciting to get something fun every month sent to you, no doubt.

This month was no exception. To be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with last months so I didn’t really know what to expect for this month but I have to say I have really enjoyed this months so far!

20160212_090507

First off, the bag this month is super cute! It has little bump things that give it some texture. It’s nothing crazy though. Just really nice. The back of it is just all pink. Super fun!

20160212_090643

The first product is this eye shadow pigment from naked cosmetics in the shade, I think, sierra nevada #sn-05. It’s really pretty. It looks dark but when swatched it comes off lighter and just so shimmery. I love it!

20160212_090717

Next is this lip pencil from Chella. Ipsy has used this brand before and their products are pretty decent. This is in the shade passionate pink. It has a slight shimmer so it’s not matte or anything. It’s nice and creamy feeling on the lip and the color is pretty pigmented. It’s a nice pink for the spring time!

20160212_091040

So, I haven’t heard anything about this product and I’m not really sure how I feel about it. I get super excited any time I get anything from Smashbox but this has me a little…worried? I don’t know. I have oily/combo skin, so a little part of me is excited to try this but I also think I might not like it. It’s the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil. I do admit I am curious! I just don’t know how putting an oil under my makeup and already oily skin is going to work for me…

20160212_091249

This is the Luxie 221 Flat Definer brush. This is another brand that Ipsy has used. The last brush I received from them is actually one of my favorite brushes. I find myself reaching for it all the time and that one is the 205 tapered blending brush. They are just nice and soft and easy to use. So I am really excited to have gotten the 221 this month!

20160212_091400

Lastly guys, is this wonderful little gem! I have used it a couple of times now and it is amazing. I have to admit it through me off a little to see that it was for your lips AND hands! Usually I see like lips and face but not hands. First, this smells great. It smells like your going to be eating a nice little treat. I blame it on the brown sugar and vanilla bean extract. So what this actually is, is an anti aging lip and hand all natural polish with anti aging ingredients vitamin e and jojoba oil. Guys, this stuff is truly amazing! My lips have been so dry and cracked and nothing has been working. I noticed a huge difference in one use! I just love this stuff! If you find it, you need to buy it! Seriously! lol

So that’s everything I got this month! I hope you enjoyed my little review and if you get an Ipsy bag be sure to comment below what you got this month and what your favorite products were. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to hit that follow button in the side bar to stay up to date with what I’m doing!

Crochet Coffee Cozies

Hey guys.

I just wanted to share with you a little something I’ve been working on lately for my Etsy shop!

These are my coffee cozies.

20160125_134558

I haven’t listed them just yet since I want to take a nicer picture using one of those reusable coffee cups from Starbucks, which I still need to get.

These ones don’t wrap around a regular coffee cup and are meant for cups without handles but I will be soon working on ones that do go around regular coffee cups.

20160125_213132

These are really simple to make if you already know how to crochet. The flower takes a little extra time but still very fun to make. I think I am going to be making more with different colored flowers…maybe even sell one that comes with a couple different flowers so you can change them out. They are attached with a button and you can slip the flower off the button so you can have your option of changing the flower or leaving the flower off. I thought that would be kind of fun to do.

That’s pretty much it as far as what I’ve been working on lately as far as crochet or knitting goes. Lots of other things have been going on in our personal lives that I might share later on. So you might want to be on the lookout for that if you are interested.

My next post will be on what I got in my Ipsy bag this month, so if you enjoy makeup then be sure to click that follow button so you can stay up to date with my latest posts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Crochet Scarves

Hey guys.

HAPPY FALL!

If you’re one of the lucky people who live somewhere else than southern California then you are probably experiencing cold Fall weather. I so wish we could have some of that colder weather. There is nothing I love more in the colder seasons than to be able to bundle up and snuggle and watch movies with Kyle, or to be able to sit and crochet or knit as many things as I can.

Since it hasn’t been very cold here, I have to admit that for a while I have not been in the mood to sit down with my yarn and hooks and needles. I’ve had to pretend its cold outside by closing up the house and turning on the AC and lighting my candle from bath and body works to make me get more in the mood.

The last thing I did make though was a nice grey crochet infinity scarf with a white bow.

I think it turned out cute and if you did too, then go ahead and click the “Shop” button at the top of the page. It’s a direct link to my Etsy shop and you can browse around.

I am currently working on another piece. I’m using the Loops and Thread “Charisma” yarn. It’s super soft!

Once I’m finished with this cowl I will be putting it in my Etsy shop. So if you are interested keep an eye out for it!

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to follow my blog or if you have a question leave me a comment.

Trim Healthy Mama Chili

Hey everyone!

I just got the 2 new books from trim healthy mama and just skimmed through them and it looks like there are tons of yummy things to try, so I can’t wait to start making making meals and getting back on track.

I wanted to share this recipe today since this is what I am making for dinner tonight. I don’t think I’ve shared it before but it’s the trim healthy mama Pearl’s chili. It’s an “s” or “s helper” meal that feeds a large family. I love this chili and even though it’s just me and Kyle, I really like making it. We get lots of left overs from it.

 026

To get started, I like to set everything I will need out on the counter. I forgot to add the meat in the picture but we usually use organic/grass fed hamburger meat that we get in a 3 pack from Costco. It tastes better and is better for you but you can use whatever you usually use. The recipe calls for 3 pounds of meat but I just use one of packs of meat which is about a pound and a half i believe.

The Recipe:

Basic Ingredients:

  • Ground Beef
  • Onion
  • Cans of Diced Green Chilies and Tomatoes
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Beans
  • Water
  • Sea Salt and Other Seasonings

Directions:

  • Brown 3 pounds of meat in large pot and drain of excess fat
  • Add 1 large chopped onion and cook with ground beef for a couple of minutes
  • Add 2 cans diced Rotel green chilies and tomatoes for spicier chili, or 1 can Rotel style chilies and tomatoes and 1 can petite diced tomatoes for a milder chili.
  • Add 1 small (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • Add 1-1 1/2 drained (15 oz.) cans of any type of beans.
  • Add 1-2 empty cans of water, depending how much broth you like.
  • Add sea salt, 1 Tbs. chili powder, 1 tsp. onion powder, good squirt or two of Bragg Liquid Aminos, and for those who like it extra spicy, some good shakes of cayenne pepper.
  • Simmer all ingredients for 45 to 1 hour on stove, or cook on low in crock pot all day.

This is really easy to make and to change up if you want. I change a couple of things. I don’t use the Braggs liquid aminos or cayenne pepper, and I like to use more beans.

I can’t wait to make this tonight. I really love making this during the Fall and Winter months, even though right now it’s been pretty hot here. I love making soups and chili since they are usually budget friendly. Let me know if you make this and if you’ve changed it up a little bit. Thanks for stopping by!
